West London Zone is thrilled to announce that we are entering into a long-term partnership with a major new philanthropic entity called Greater Share which will, in several years' time, provide us with some sustainable, long-term funding to help us replicate our system of support for children and young people beyond London.

Greater Share is a first-of-its-kind innovative investment model that brings together leading private equity firms, a unique community of business and philanthropic supporters, and some of the world’s most impactful education charities to transform children’s education in under-served communities across the globe.

West London Zone has been selected as one of 8 of those charities, and one of only 2 in the UK, from a long list of 4,000 through a rigorous process. Being selected within the portfolio is a great achievement, and reflects Greater Share’s belief in our work and recognition of the impact we are having with children and young people.

We launched a refreshed strategy last year, with a target to grow from reaching 1,000 children and young people in our Zone to 3,000 by 2025. That target in our current Zone does not change. Greater Share’s funding will not become available for several years yet and will support our replication outside of London. While we will begin planning, researching and building relationships for our replication over the next 2-3 years, we will also stay focused on achieving our local growth plan.

We remain committed to our current growth strategy, and our place. The need for West London Zone in our current Zone remains high, as do our funding targets required to achieve our current local strategy by 2025 and to enable more children to benefit from our support.

Longer-term, while the Greater Share model is designed to create a multiplier effect on donations, providing charities with long-term, unrestricted funding to scale their impact, it will also require us to raise further funding to achieve this replication.
